Frequently Asked Questions

In particular, Brevicillin® Drops have been specifically formulated to be “child-friendly” and can also be used in newborns.

Yes, the content of the Stick packs can be dissolved directly in the mouth without adding liquids.
Drops, on the other hand, should be taken directly into the oral cavity or diluted in cold or lukewarm drinks.
It is recommended to take one dose of the product, regardless of the format, after each antibiotic dose:
- Brevicillin® Orosoluble Stick packs: 1 stick after each antibiotic dose
- Brevicillin® Capsules: 1 capsule after each antibiotic dose
- Brevicillin® Drops: 5 drops after each antibiotic dose
No interactions with other medicines have been reported. Before starting any treatment, it is recommended to consult your doctor.
All products in the Brevicillin® line (Brevicillin® Stick packs, Brevicillin® Capsules and Brevicillin® Drops) have been developed to be taken in combination with Amoxicillin or Amoxicillin/Clavulanic Acid, antibiotics against which the strain Bifidobacterium breve PRL2020 shows specific intrinsic resistance.
No significant resistance of B. breve PRL2020 is known against other antibiotics. Nevertheless, Brevicillin® products may still represent a valid support for restoring intestinal microbiota balance. However, if treatments with antibiotics other than Amoxicillin or Amoxicillin/Clavulanic Acid are required, it is recommended to start taking the product from the last day of antibiotic therapy and not during concomitant use.
No side effects have been observed. In case of excessive or accidental intake, consult your doctor.
- Stick packs & Capsules: contain probiotic microorganisms sensitive to heat and must therefore be stored in the refrigerator (+2°C / +8°C).
- Drops: contain the same probiotic microorganisms but in an oil suspension and can be stored at room temperature, in a cool and dry place, away from heat sources. In this format, the oil acts as a natural “thermal insulator” and, based on internal stability studies, it has been shown to ensure the correct bacterial concentration until the end of the product shelf life even when stored at room temperature
